OSI is Awarded a Contract for a New ERCOT Nodal Market Generation Management System

Open Systems International, Inc. (OSI) has been awarded a new contract by an Energy Concern* (EC) for supply of a comprehensive new Generation Management System (GMS). OSI's monarch™ GMS platform will give the EC a flexible, reliable and secure system to provide Real-time generation resource monitoring, dispatch and control services for its assets in the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) region and participation in the ERCOT Nodal Market operations.

The EC will provide energy and energy services to expanding markets throughout the Southwest, Texas and the West. The EC business missions include competitive retail electricity sales, operation and ownership of diverse generation assets and wholesale marketing and trading.

The proposed system is based on OSI's monarch distributed open architecture and includes Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition, Communications Interfaces for ERCOT Nodal Market operation, Web-based Graphical User Interface, Automatic Generation Control and Dispatch, Historical Information System, Calculation and Trending subsystem, Open Database Connectivity, Market Operations System, Backup/Disaster Recovery Control System and ICCP, DNP and Modbus communications, as well as interfaces for EC's other Market Operating and Settlement Systems.
