Redding Electric Utility of California Selects OSI Technology for a New SCADA System

Open Systems International, Inc. (OSI) has been awarded a contract by Redding Electric Utility (REU) of California to supply a new advanced SCADA system based on OSI's monarch™ (Multi-platform Open Network ARCHitecture) platform.

REU's new SCADA system includes OSI's advanced Graphical User Interface (GUI), Remote Console GUI, Calculation and Scripting Subsystem, Real-time and Historical Trending, Disturbance Data Collection, Data Engineering and Maintenance Subsystem, Advanced Alarm Management System, Dynamic Tabular Display Subsystem, Tabular Builder, Communications Front-end Processor, Inter-control Center Communications Protocol, Open Database Connectivity Interface, Historical Information System and Data Archiving, OpenDMA MultiSpeak Interface, Dynamic Data Exchange, Comverge Device Interface, Voyager™, OSI's Web-Based and mobile User Interface, and CHRONUS™ OSI's next-generation historian supported by big data technology for massive time series data collection and data mining.

REU (www.cityofredding.org/departments/redding-electric-utility) is a community-owned electric utility providing safe and reliable energy since 1921. REU serves approximately 44,000 residential and commercial customers within the city of Redding, with 800,000 megawatt hours of electricity provided annually and a peak load of over 250 megawatts.
