OSI Launches 'Cumulo', a Cloud Services Subsidiary Company

Open Systems International, Inc. (OSI) has launched a new subsidiary, Cumulo™, focused on offering Cloud-based applications software delivery to utilities and industrial and retail customers. Cumulo is a wholly owned subsidiary company of OSI and will use OSI back-end software technology to serve customers in a Software as a Service (SaaS) licensing and delivery model. This will transition OSI's entire Cloud delivery model from the company's traditional "systems-based" delivery organization to the subsidiary in order to better focus its Cloud initiatives.

These Cloud-based services (GridCloud™) will include OSI's Advanced Outage Management System (OMS); historian and data warehousing; SCADA and remote monitoring for electric and water utilities, industrials, campuses, microgrids, and renewables; distributed energy resource management; disaster recovery control centers for various utilities; hosted applications such as Load Forecasting; Transmission and Distribution Network Analysis Applications, and Operator Training Simulators; web-based User Interface and corporate data dissemination; ICCP proxy for communications; distributed generation modeling and forecasting, as well other OT applications.

"The Cloud is the future of Operations Technology (OT), as it is now the prevalent technology in delivery of IT Enterprise applications. OSI, as always, will be at the forefront of this important paradigm shift," said Ron Ingram, VP of Strategic Technology at OSI.

OSI will pursue partnerships with Cloud providers and regional resellers to market Cumulo's services domestically and internationally. OSI's current Cloud customers will be transitioned to this new subsidiary.
