City of Edmond, Oklahoma's Largest Community-Owned Electric Utility Department, Selects OSI's SCADA Technology

Open Systems International, Inc. (OSI) has been awarded a contract by the City of Edmond Electric Department (Edmond Electric) to supply a new SCADA system based on OSI's monarch™ (Multi-platform Open Network ARCHitecture) platform. This new system will replace Edmond Electric's legacy ACS SCADA system, which has been in operation since 2003.

Edmond Electric is a member of the Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority (OMPA), a state governmental agency that provides low-cost, wholesale electricity to cities and towns that own their own electric systems. OMPA's power supply comes from a variety of resources, including wind, hydroelectric, natural gas, and coal.

This new OSI SCADA platform features the following components: an advanced Graphical User Interface (GUI), Advanced Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition, Advanced Alarm Management System, Communications Front-end Processor, Historical Information System and Data Archiving, Real-time and Historical Trending and Analytics, and Data Engineering and Maintenance subsystems.

Edmond Electric (www.edmondok.com) is Oklahoma's largest community-owned electric utility, and has served the Edmond community since 1908. Today, Edmond Electric provides electric services to more than 83,000 customers within the City of Edmond corporate city limits.
