Open Systems International, Inc. (OSI) has successfully supplied Jonesboro City Water & Light (JCWL) of Arkansas with a new SCADA system based on OSI's monarch™ (Multi-platform Open Network ARCHitecture) platform, a replacement for JCWL's legacy ILEX system.
JCWL's new SCADA system includes OSI's advanced Graphical User Interface; Real-time and Historical Trending; Data Engineering and Maintenance Subsystem; Advanced Alarm Management System; Communications Front-end Processor; Historical Information System and Data Archiving; and Voyager™, OSI's Remote/Mobile Browser-based User Interface.
Jonesboro City Water & Light (www.jonesborocwl.org) is a municipal improvement district, which serves water, sewer, and electricity to the citizens of Jonesboro, Arkansas. It was organized in 1906 to purchase and control the then-existing privately owned water and light plant, and for the construction of sanitary sewers in the city. JCWL has approximately 36,000 electric customers, 35,800 water customers (including 6,000 rural), 24,000 sewer customers, and a city population of almost 71,500.
