Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. Selects OSI SCADA Technology for Renewable Energy Management Centers in India's Northern Region

Open Systems International, Inc. (OSI) and partner Chemtrols Industries Pvt. Ltd. (Chemtrols) have been awarded a contract by the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) to implement a SCADA system—based on OSI's monarch™ operations technology (OT) platform—that will manage renewable energy management centers (REMCs) in the northern Indian state of Rajasthan and in New Delhi. The New Delhi location includes one central regional control center as well as a separate national load dispatch center for REMCs. A key facet of the Indian Ministry of New and Renewable Energy's Green Energy Corridor initiative, these REMCs will help integrate renewable energy sources into the country's power grid, providing stability and security.

This new SCADA system features OSI's next-generation, .NET-based Graphical User Interface (GUI); Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition; Communications Front-end Processor; Real-time and Historical Trending; Advanced Alarm Management System; Data Engineering and Maintenance Subsystem; Historical Information System and Data Archiving; Equipment Outage Scheduler; and CHRONUS™, OSI's next-generation, time series-based historian supported by big data technology. The SCADA system will integrate seamlessly with the REMCs' renewable energy forecasting and scheduling capabilities.
