OSI Breaks Ground on New 75,000-Square-Foot Headquarters Expansion Project

Following nearly two years of planning and design, Open Systems International, Inc. (OSI) has broken ground on a 75,000-square-foot building expansion project at its Medina, Minnesota headquarters campus. Upon its completion, it will provide a workspace for 400-500 additional employees, as well as an expanded training facility; a modern, full-service cafeteria; an expanded fitness center; ample conference rooms; and casual employee congregation areas. The new building will also house a highly resilient and secure subterranean Cloud data center to serve OSI's utility customers. With this addition, the OSI headquarters campus can support nearly 1,000 employees.

OSI's decades-long trajectory of exponential business growth has necessitated this expansion, which will ensure a comfortable, fully modernized work environment for OSI employees, partners, and customers for years to come. Similar to the existing LEED GOLD-certified headquarters building, this addition will be environmentally sustainable and will be conditioned by a state-of-the-art, energy-efficient geothermal system. The expansion will also showcase OSI's microgrid capabilities with the addition of generator capacity, battery storage, uninterruptible power supply (UPS), and an expanded solar array. The expected occupancy date will be in the late spring or early summer of 2021.

"We're pleased to report rapid progress with the expansion project and are eager to make the new facilities available to the OSI community," said Hayley Ruhoff-Benson, OSI's director of corporate operations. "As with all things OSI does, we've approached this undertaking with a commitment to quality and a meticulous attention to detail, focusing on delivering a clean aesthetic and an environmentally responsible space."
