Atlantic Municipal Utilities of Iowa Awards OSI a Contract for a SCADA Master Station

Open Systems International, Inc. (OSI) has recently been awarded a contract by Atlantic Municipal Utilities (AMU) of Iowa, to supply a SCADA Master Station to control AMU's electrical system.

The system will be based on OSI's monarch™ distributed open architecture and includes Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition, Historical Archiving, Web-based User Interface and will utilize DNP over IP communications. OSI's market presence and open technology were major decision factors for AMU in choosing their first SCADA system. The project will be implemented utilizing OSI's proven fast-track implementation program.

According to Mary Jo Nye, Director of Business Development at OSI, "We are very pleased to have AMU join the OSI user community. The system will be a unique implementation for OSI with an infrastructure that will employ a combination of wireless and fiber communications and Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (SEL) communications processors."

"AMU is pleased to join a growing number of public power and cooperative systems in Iowa who have entered a partnership relationship with OSI," said Allen Bonderman, General Manager of AMU. "The company's recognition and responsiveness to the needs of a small utility system such as ours, as well as their tremendous technical capabilities, were major factors in our decision."
