OSI Awarded a Contract by Homestead Energy Services of Florida to Provide a SCADA and Generation Control System

Open Systems International, Inc. (OSI) has recently been awarded a contract by Homestead Energy Services (HES), Florida to supply a comprehensive SCADA System and Generation Control and Management System (GMS).

The system will be based on OSI's monarch™ distributed open architecture and includes Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition, Automatic Generation Control (AGC) and Economic Dispatch (ED), Reserve Monitoring (RM) and Production Costing (PC). OSI's delivery track record and its market presence as well as its Open technology have been major decision factors for HES.

The City of Homestead (ci.homestead.fl.us) lies near the southern-most tip of Florida. Homestead Energy Services (HES) is a municipal utility that provides electric services to the City of Homestead. HES generates, distributes and sells energy services. HES also maintains transmission and distribution services to provide a reliable source of energy as well as buying and selling power when it is economically advantageous to the City of Homestead.
