Solutia Inc. Awards OSI a Contract to Provide a Master SCADA System for its Pensacola, Florida Chemical Plant

Open Systems International, Inc. (OSI), has been awarded a contract by Solutia Inc. to supply a replacement SCADA Master Station for monitoring and controlling the electrical distribution network at its very large chemical plant in Pensacola, Florida. This marks a new market for OSI products and services outside the traditional electrical utility business sector.

The system will be based on OSI's monarch™ distributed open architecture and includes Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition, Historical Archiving, and both Calculation and Trending Subsystem capabilities. Decision factors for Solutia to choose OSI's monarch architecture were the flexibility and openness of the product, as well as OSI's large market presence. The system is scheduled to be implemented on a four (4) month schedule using OSI's Fast Track Implementation Program.
