OSI to Provide New Energy Management System for Wind Energy Transmission Texas, LLC

Open Systems International, Inc. (OSI) has been selected to provide a new SCADA/EMS system to Wind Energy Transmission Texas, LLC (WETT).

In 2009, WETT was awarded a contract by the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) to construct, operate and maintain high-voltage transmission lines in 11 West Texas counties as part of the Texas Legislature's Competitive Renewable energy Zone (CREZ) project. The CREZ project goals have been to construct approximately 2,400 miles of new 345kV transmission lines and expand renewable energy capacity to 18,500 MW by 2013.

The new SCADA/EMS system for WETT will be based on OSI's monarch™ platform and will feature the advanced functionality of OSI's next-generation .NET based Graphical User Interface; Advanced Alarm Management System; Real-time and Historical Trending; Communications Front-end Processor; Historical Information System and Data Archiving; and Inter-Control Center Communications Protocol software products, as well as a full suite of Transmission Network Analysis applications including State Estimator, Topology Processor, Power Flow, Contingency Analysis and Operator training Simulator functions.
