OSI Receives Contract from Municipal Energy Agency of Nebraska for a Generation Management System

Open Systems International, Inc. (OSI) has been awarded a new contract by the Municipal Energy Agency of Nebraska (MEAN), for a new SCADA and Generation Management System (GMS) based on OSI's monarch™ (Multi-platform Open Network ARCHitecture) platform.

MEAN is one of four energy-related organizations under the trade name NMPP Energy (www.nmppenergy.org), a nonprofit, member-owned organization that provides electricity, natural gas and utility-related services to nearly 200 member communities across six Midwestern and Mountain states.

The new monarch system for MEAN is set to include the advanced functionality of OSI's next-generation, .NET based Graphical User Interface (GUI); Advanced SCADA Functionality; Advanced Alarm Management System; Real-time and Historical Trending; Automatic Generation Control and Dispatch; Energy Market Control Algorithm; and Market Operations System software products.

MEAN (www.nmppenergy.org/mean/) is the wholesale electricity supply organization of NMPP Energy. Created in 1981, MEAN provides power supply, transmission and related services to more than 60 communities, one public power district and one joint-action agency in four states: Colorado, Iowa, Nebraska and Wyoming.
