OSI and DC Systems Form a Strategic Technology Partnership to Better Serve Utilities

Open Systems International, Inc. (OSI), the leader in open automation solutions for the utility industry, has formed a strategic partnership with DC Systems, a leading provider of real-time control and data management software for utility power markets. This partnership addresses joint solutions for Transmission, Distribution, Generation, and emerging technologies for the grid edge, Smart Grid, and renewables.

The partners will integrate DC Systems' Real-Time Smart Energy Suite™ software applications with OSI's advanced monarch™ platform to address large-scale DA-SCADA, DMS/ADMS, Generation (GMS), Distributed Energy Resources (DERMS), Transmission (EMS), and other utility market segments. The collaboration offers current and new customers enhanced features, coordinated system-wide control, and seamless data integration from legacy SCADA environments to new enterprise-wide solutions with significant risk mitigation and cost savings.

OSI and DC Systems have many common customers currently using technologies from both companies in their OT infrastructure. These customers will be able to seamlessly integrate DC Systems' SCADA and Intelligent Communications Gateway (ICG) installations with OSI's monarch platform solutions.

"Together we offer a new option and end-to-end seamless solutions for utilities to efficiently manage and scale multi-vendor systems, and migrate to new, advanced OT architectures," said Bahman Hoveida, CEO of OSI. DC Systems pioneered distributed intelligence solutions with their RTscada systems in the 1990s, and they have an impressive roster of installations and customers across North America and the world. The integration offers the best of breed in platforms and communications technologies to our joint customers, as well as others seeking an enterprise-wide SCADA and automation platform."

"We're pleased to partner with OSI, an outstanding leader with the best technology and customer support in the industry," said Douglass Campbell, CEO of DC Systems. "We both address customer needs for interoperability, scalability and streamlining IT and OT functions. We're working with OSI to enable advanced applications with superior utility-grade features and performance that address critical industry needs for the evolving grid and DERMS."
