Major U.S. Energy Company Selects OSI Technology for Advanced Transmission Situational Awareness System

Open Systems International, Inc. (OSI) has been selected by a major North American retail electricity and natural gas provider in the MISO region to supply a new Enhanced Situational Awareness (ESA) system for their transmission control centers. The company prefers to remain anonymous.

OSI's Advanced Visualizations and Situational Awareness system module, OSI Landscape™, is a decision support tool that can be tailored to the specific operational and business objectives of any utility company, combining data mining, mathematical analysis, and advanced visualization techniques to concisely and intuitively present system operators with the state of the power grid.

The OSI Landscape platform can present data on large-format display video wall systems, as well as supported corporate dashboards and mobile devices. This system will interface with the company's existing Energy Management System and has a NERC CIP-compliant architecture, providing secure mission-critical availability and performance.
