National Transmission Company of the Dominican Republic, ETED, Inaugurates New National Control Center Based on OSI EMS Technology

On November 9, 2017, the Dominican Republic's national transmission company, Empresa de Transmisión Eléctrica Dominicana (ETED), inaugurated a new, state-of-the-art national transmission control center. OSI supplied ETED with an advanced SCADA/Energy Management System (EMS) based on OSI's monarch™ real-time automation and visualization platform, which helped the utility gain ISO 9001-2015 international quality standard certification for the facility.

Julian Santana, ETED's administrator and the utility's ranking authority, led the event, speaking before the president of the Dominican Republic, Mr. Danilo Medina; government energy authorities; and a large ETED employee audience. Santana praised his team and the company before expressing appreciation for OSI as the supplier of the world-class technology implemented at the new control center.

Norbo Mateo, ETED's director of operations, presented the primary system features and conducted tours of the control center for authorities, who reported being impressed with the updated facilities and system.

OSI Program Director Mauro Castiglione represented OSI at the ceremony. "OSI would like to congratulate Mr. Santana, Mr. Mateo, and the entire ETED team for the great outcome they have achieved. We are proud to have played a part in their journey," he said.
