OSI's 20th Annual Worldwide User Conference in Las Vegas Draws Record Attendance

Open Systems International, Inc. (OSI), a provider of high-performance operations technology (OT) solutions to utilities worldwide, recently hosted its 20th consecutive annual worldwide user conference, OpenForum18™, at the Aria Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event provided numerous opportunities for the rapidly growing OSI community—comprised of current and prospective customers, industry consultants, solutions partners, and key OSI technical and management staff—to network, exchange ideas, and gain an exclusive look at OSI's detailed product road map. This year's conference drew more than 650 attendees from 150 organizations, making it not only the largest in OSI history, but the largest of any such event in the OT industry.

OSI founder and CEO Bahman Hoveida commenced OpenForum18 with a keynote address, during which he provided a thorough corporate update, sharing OSI's strategic direction, business and development milestones of the past year, and an analysis of market drivers and industry headwinds. Throughout the subsequent three days of the conference, OSI technical experts delivered detailed insight about product direction and road maps via presentations and tightly focused breakout sessions dedicated to SCADA, generation, transmission, distribution, and cyber security, among other pertinent topics. Numerous OSI customers presented on their innovative uses of OSI platforms and their unique solutions to industry-wide challenges. As in past years, open and transparent exchanges between users and OSI staff generated a great deal of interesting and useful ideas certain to influence OSI's product direction and product planning for the coming years.

In keeping with tradition, OSI held an awards ceremony during the conference, honoring several longtime customers with OSI's Most Valued Customer Awards. These awards celebrate the unique, enduring partnerships OSI strives to maintain with all its clients.

"It is very gratifying to see our user community grow from a mere handful of customers 20 years ago to more than 300 utilities today," said OSI President and CEO Bahman Hoveida. "Our annual user conference is an important event for us and our users, and it serves as an important guiding light for enhancing our solutions and services based on direct feedback from the entire user community. We look forward to even bigger events in the coming years."

Year after year, OSI's annual user conference, OpenForum18, serves as a confluence for innovative utility professionals seeking the best ideas, solutions, and guidance to stay ahead of an ever-evolving technology and cyber-security landscape.
