Virginia's Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative Selects OSI Technology for a New SCADA/DMS

Open Systems International, Inc. (OSI) has been awarded a contract by Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative (SVEC) for a new SCADA and Distribution Management System (DMS). Based on OSI's monarch™ operational technology (OT) platform, this new system will replace SVEC's legacy Siemens SCADA system, modernizing the utility's distribution grid operations.

In addition to OSI's secure and scalable SCADA platform, this new system features natively integrated DMS components from OSI's Spectra™ DMS suite, including Distribution Network Operating Model; interfaces to SVEC's Geographic Information System (GIS), Outage Management System (OMS), and Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL); as well as Operator Electronic Logbook; Field Device Commissioning; CHRONUS™, OSI's next-generation, time series-based historian; and Voyager™, OSI's web-based and mobile user interface.

Chartered in 1936, Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative (www.svec.coop) serves approximately 92,000 meters in the counties of Augusta, Clarke, Frederick, Highland, Page, Rockingham, Shenandoah, and Warren and the city of Winchester in Virginia. Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative was the first electric cooperative chartered in Virginia. This institution is an equal opportunity provider and employer. SVEC supports our armed services and veterans in employment opportunities.
