IPL Selects OSI Technology for a New Energy Management System

Open Systems International, Inc. (OSI) has been selected by Indianapolis Power and Light Company (IPL) to supply a new advanced Energy Management System (EMS) based on OSI's monarch™ operations technology (OT) platform. This will replace IPL's legacy ABB Ranger EMS system.

In addition to OSI's secure and scalable SCADA platform, IPL's new system features fully integrated EMS and Generation Management System (GMS) components, including Network Security Analysis functions such as State Estimation, Contingency Analysis, Dispatcher Power Flow, and Transmission Operator Training Simulator; Equipment Outage Scheduler; Energy Market Interfaces; and Automatic Generation Control and Dispatch. The system also includes a NERC CIP Baselining Security Tool Kit and CHRONUS™ OSI's next-generation time series-based historian supported by big data technology.
