Turlock Irrigation District of California Selects OSI Technology for a New Energy Management System

Open Systems International, Inc. (OSI) has been selected by Turlock Irrigation District (TID) to supply a new advanced Energy Management System (EMS) based on OSI's monarch™ operational technology (OT) platform. This will replace TID's legacy Siemens EMS, providing the utility with a flexible and robust platform to fully modernize and streamline their transmission network as they prepare to enter the California EIM market.

In addition to OSI's secure and scalable SCADA platform, TID's new system features fully integrated EMS and Generation Management System (GMS) components, including Real-time and Study Network Analysis, Operator Training Simulator, Common Information Model-Import/Export, Transaction Management System, Inadvertent Accounting, Energy Market Interfaces, AGC Performance Monitoring, Generation Control and Dispatch, as well as EIM Market Network and Generation applications to facilitate TID's integration into the California EIM market.

The Turlock Irrigation District (www.tid.org), located in Turlock, California, is the first publicly owned irrigation district and one of only four today that provides irrigation water and power to residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural customers within its service area.
