Open Systems International, Inc. (OSI) has recently been awarded a contract by N.W. Electric Power Cooperative, Inc. (NWEPC) in Cameron, Missouri to implement a Linux-Based SCADA system. The project, which encompasses NWEPC and their seven (7) member cooperatives, will allow NWEPC to integrate a variety of SCADA equipment into one cohesive system.

(OSI), has been awarded a contract by Solutia Inc. to supply a replacement SCADA Master Station for monitoring and controlling the electrical distribution network at its very large chemical plant in Pensacola, Florida. This marks a new market for OSI products and services outside the traditional electrical utility business sector.

Open Systems International, Inc. (OSI) has recently been awarded a combined contract by Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro (NLH) and Churchill Falls Labrador Corporation LTD (CF(L)Co) to implement an Energy Management System (EMS) for Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro and a SCADA system for the Churchill Falls Hydro Generating Station, the world's largest underground hydro project. The organizations, which operate under the umbrella of the Hydro Group of Companies, are responsible for the majority of generation and transmission in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.

Open Systems International, Inc. (OSI) is pleased to announce the inauguration of a new development and project implementation centre in Perth, Australia. The new OSI Australian headquarters is located on the campus of Technology Park, a premiere high-tech campus in Perth adjoining the Curtin University of Technology. From this centre, OSI will conduct project development and support for Australia and New Zealand as well as India and Southeast Asia. The centre will also be involved with business development activities for the geographical area.

Open Systems International, Inc. (OSI) announces a new release of its OpenOTS™, Operator Training Simulator software code named ARISTOTLE™. OpenOTS is a tool that enables electric utilities to achieve realistic simulations as required by the North American Reliability Council (NERC) for all Operators and Reliability Coordinators. Following the August 14, 2003 large-scale blackout, NERC performed root-cause studies and established specific actions for control areas throughout the bulk electric system that it governs. Hands-on operator training using realistic system simulations was established as a specific action and a key required technical initiative.

The system, which will be located at Kennedy Space Center, will manage the power distribution at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (CCAFS) in Florida.

Open Systems International, Inc. (OSI) has recently been awarded a contract to supply an Energy Management System (EMS) to Empire District Electric Company (Empire) of Missouri. The new EMS system will be installed in the Empire System Operations Control Center in Joplin, Missouri, replacing an aging Telegyr 8500 Energy Management System. The OSI system will allow Empire to optimally manage its current generation, transmission and distribution assets, and its market operations in the Southwest Power Pool, while providing the capability to meet future growth and expansion and functionality requirements in a cost effective and efficient manner.
