Middle Tennessee EMC Selects OSI Technology for a New Distribution Management System

Open Systems International, Inc. (OSI) has been awarded a contract by Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation (MTEMC) to supply a state-of-the-art Distribution Management System (DMS) built on OSI's monarch™ operational technology (OT) platform. This solution will replace MTEMC's legacy SCADA system, updating and fortifying the utility's distribution operations.

In addition to OSI's secure and scalable SCADA platform, this comprehensive DMS implementation will include Load Shed and Restoration, Dynamic Data Exchange, Distribution Network Operating Model, and a full complement of advanced DMS applications including Distribution Power Flow; Volt/VAR Optimization; Fault Location, Isolation, and System Restoration; Fault Protection Analysis; Feeder Reconfiguration; Short-Circuit Analysis; Switch Order Management; Dynamic Network Visualizer; and Distribution Operator Training Simulator.

Implementation of OSI's DMS solution provides MTEMC with a flexible and scalable OT platform capable of integration with current and emerging advanced technologies such as distributed energy resources and automated devices.
